Sports Morning and Summer Fayre Arrangements

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please find below the arrangements for the Sports Morning and Summer Fayre to be held on Friday 10th July. We are very much looking forward to sharing the day with you all and hope to see as many parents, friends and family as possible at both events.

 Sports Morning

Sports Morning will start at 10am. Parents can arrive onto school premises from 9.50am and are asked to wait on the playground but not the field. A briefing will be held with parents at approx 10am on the playground. We are asking that children come to school in their school PE Kit (No football strips please) and they will spend the day in this clothing. The weather forecast is predicted to be hot, so please ensure that children have suncream applied, sun hats and a full bottle of water to take around with them.

The first part of the morning will consist of a carousel of activities aimed at technical sport skills in which the children will earn points for their team. Children will be split into mixed age teams and siblings will be in the same team allowing parents to be able to move around with their children and watch the different activities, positively cheering the children on. After the carousel, the children will regroup into their classes at the running track and a range of running races will take place. Children will sit in classes on the side of the track closest to the fence and parents are to position themselves on the other side. The children coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any race will be awarded with a sticker and they will also earn points for their team. Children will also be awarded with stickers for taking part. We will then collate all of the points and the winner will be announced to the children early next week.

We envisage the Sports Morning to be completed around 11.30am.

Lunchtime Arrangements

After finishing the races, the field will be cleared of school PE equipment. The children will all be taken back to their classes where they will organise themselves whilst parents set up their picnic. The field is yours to set up your own space and we ask that parents then come to their child's class to sign their child out. At this point, each Teacher will have a class register and we will ask that you sign to take responsibility for your child as the school staff begin to make the preparations for the organisation of Summer Fayre.

Should you still wish your child to have a Hot School Meal, or have chosen for them to have the cold option, our lunchtime team will be in school so this can be facilitated. Any children who have not been collected will have lunch as normal.

Unfortunately, we cannot allow parents to consume alcohol on the school premises and ask that this is not brought as part of the picnic.

Any children who have not been collected by parents will be kept safe until either someone collects them or the end of the school day. If you are aware that you will be unable to collect your child but still wish for them to be able to take part in the activities, please send them with money in a clearly marked envelope and explain to the teacher who will escort them around the fayre.

Summer Fayre

Summer Fayre will begin around 1pm. We have had confirmation of some exciting stalls and events which will be on offer throughout the afternoon.

At 2.30pm, we will have the final of Ancaster's Got Talent. The children have all taken part in class talent shows and have chosen their winner to compete in the final. These 5 groups of children will all perform for you and we hope to draw a crowd to showcase their many talents!

At the end of the afternoon (approx 3.30pm), the raffle will be drawn and there are some exceptional prizes so please support us by buying many tickets (remember, you have to be in it to win it).

For this reason, you are free to leave the premises at any point with your child but we hope you can stay with for the afternoon to share in the wonderful activities we have planned.

I recognise that there is a great deal of information in this communication but hope that you now feel fully informed about how the day will be structured.

As previously mentioned, we are delighted to be able to offer such a family filled, community fun day and hope that we are able to see you there.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr Sam Eden
