Extreme Weather: Monday and Tuesday 18th/19th

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Monday and Tuesday the forecast is due to be extremely warm with temperatures predicted to be in excess of 30 degrees. Please note that school will remain open and there is no current plan to close the school. We will take steps to increase ventilation and reduce the amounts of time spent directly in the sunshine and we will be encouraging the children to stay hydrated throughout the day. PE will be cancelled for the 2 days, with sessions moved to another point in the week when it will be cooler and exposure to sunshine during lunchtime will be kept to a minimum with shady areas being maximised.
Please send your child to school in their PE Kit, making sure their clothing is as loose fitting as possible (no flip flops or open shoes please)-please do not worry about the usual uniform requirements/expectations for these two days. Please also ensure children come to school with sun hats, water bottles and suncream already applied (with more if needed).

Please do not worry about your child during this time, we will take every step possible to ensure their health and safety at every point in the day.

Best Wishes,
Mr Eden
Headteacher
